Theme: God Made
Us on Purpose!
PARENT PITCH: It’s never too early to make sure your
children know they are not an accident.
Below are some focus points, each with a memory verse to support
it. Let your child’s ear hear these
verses coming from your lips on a regular basis. Sing them, post them
on the mirror and on the refrigerator.
1. Help your
child to realize
they are wanted, by God and by
you!
MEMORY VERSE: “He has made everything beautiful
in its time,” Ecclesiastes 3:11
2. Teach that God made all things
on purpose, including you and your child!
MEMORY VERSE: “In the beginning God created the
heavens and the earth.” Genesis
1:1.

Teach: “We are special in God’s plan.”
MEMORY VERSE: “God created man
in His own image.” Genesis 1:27.

Teach them: God wants to be known while
you are young!
MEMORY VERSE: “Remember your
Creator in the days of your youth.” Ecclesiastes 12:1a.
5. Tell your
child why God
created them -- to be good and do good!
MEMORY VERSE: “For we are God’s workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us
to do.” Ephesians 2:10.
6. Encourage them to do their best at whatever
they do!
MEMORY VERSE: “Whatever your hand finds
to do, do it with all your might.” Ecclesiastes
9:10.

Teach that God holds you and your life in His hand.
DEVOTIONAL READING: “Ask the Animals!“ Job 12:7-10,
a perfect text for fun object lessons.
You can give a voice to puppets or stuffed animals to speak godly
truths playfully to your child.
“But ask the animals, and they will teach you,
or the birds of the air, and they
will tell you;
or speak to the earth, and it will
teach you,
or let the fish of the sea inform
you.
Which of all these does not know
that the hand of the LORD has done
this?
In his hand is the life of every creature
and the breath of all mankind.” Job 12:7-10.

PARENT POSTSCRIPT: We
start our learning guide with God and His purposeful creation. Your child will learn many other things in
Sunday School and parents should interact with them on
other topics as well. You have all year
to impress these points & passages on your toddler. Once they are inside you, they will keep
coming through you over the years.
